Greater Manchester Celebration Event 2023

On Wednesday 1st February 2023 the Greater Manchester House Project teams welcomed professionals to Jigsaw Homes, this included CEO’s of registered Housing Providers, children’s service leads and Greater Manchester elected members, to celebrate achievements and successes of the 7 local authorities and the collaboration of the House Project.  

The event was opened by founder of the BRO project Matt and he talked about why he worked with the House project and believed it was essential to be brought to the Bury, Rochdale and Oldham areas. Jane talked about each project and the importance of the collaboration of the Greater Manchester 7 local authorities, whilst Becky spoke about the wider collaboration with the National House Project. Each Project lead discussed their local house project and their individual successes of the young people, with photographs and videos from sessions and events.  

To close the event the wonderful Mya from Manchester and Trafford project performed a rap written by herself about how overcoming challenges and her future aspirations! Mya was AMAZING and made everyone in the room smile, particularly the House project teams who were immensely proud! Well done Mya!  

Young people, house project staff and professionals then shared cake and took the opportunity to network, discussing the house project and the importance of making a change for the future of our young care leavers in Manchester and nationally.
