Cohort 3 Greater Manchester Residential
Posted 22nd April 2025
Last week Staff and young people spent the day in Crowden Activity Centre in Glossop, joining with the Manchester and Trafford House Project, and Tameside and Stockport House project for some outdoor activities. When we arrived young people spent time learning the ropes, and headed off for Raft Building activity - BRO vs MTTS! Well done to Angel and Mark who were master knot-tiers! Young people worked hard in their teams to create their perfect floating rafts, but it was on the river where it really mattered - each team battled it out to make sure they became the winners on the rafts! Well done MTTS team for the win!
After we had dried off, we spent time at lunch getting to know one another, sharing a buffet and chilling in the sunshine, Amelia made sure all young people had an Easter egg - thank you to Tom at Oldham Food bank for the donations! We headed off into the cars further into Glossop for some Abseiling!
When we arrived young people and staff were shown the safety rules, and headed up the walls! Staff and young people got involved in the activity with others watching on in the sun! Well done to the young people who really challenged themselves and faced their fears! You did amazing!
When we were done we headed to the pub Carvery for tea together, Young people spent time building their relationships with staff and peers from different projects, it was a great day! Everyone really enjoyed themselves, the sun was shining and there was lots of Laughs! Another successful Residential completed!
